Green Thumb Ranch was never a planned or an idea.
At first, I was simply looking for a place where I could create a man-cave, keep my boats, and start filming YouTube fishing videos. For more than seven months, I searched for the right property, and from the very beginning, these same five acres kept appearing in front of me.
Looking back now, I truly believe that was God's hand at work.
I have always believed that things happen for a reason and that God leads our lives, even when we do not fully understand where He is taking us. What I wanted at the time was very different from what God had planned. These five acres became more than just land — they became the beginning of something much deeper.
This land became even more meaningful during one of the hardest seasons of our lives. In May 2023, Johanna's father passed away, and in November 2023, my father also passed away. Losing both of our fathers in the same year changed us deeply. God had a plan, it became a place of healing, comfort, renewal and a special place where we feel closer to our creator.
My wife, Johanna, also found a special kind of happiness here through the animals and the life we began building together on the ranch. What started with no plans for animals, fruit trees, or a garden slowly turned into a place full of life, peace, and purpose.
What we once thought would only be a space for fishing videos became a small ranch that we now have the blessing of sharing with our community and with others. It is a place where faith, family, animals, and the beauty of simple country living all come together.
Along the way, God also opened another unexpected door: our coffee journey. What we never planned has become something truly special — a unique coffee brand with roots in heritage and home, “Grown in the mountains, roasted by the sea!” Our coffee is single origin from Matagalpa, Nicaragua the farm that is a third generation. We will be roasting our coffee here in the island of Bokeelia, Florida.
Green Thumb Ranch is our reminder that sometimes our plans are small compared to what God has prepared for us. We are grateful for where He has led us, and we are honored to share this journey with others.
